You are cordially invited to join FuseDSM in celebrating The Beacon, an organization that provides housing and programming for women who have experienced trauma.
The Beacon's mission is to empower women in crisis and help them achieve positive long-term change. Founded in 1980, The Beacon operates as a client-centered community living environment that supports adult women in central Iowa who have experienced trauma and systemic inequity. These social determinants of health often serve as the precursor for substance use and subsequent involvement with the criminal justice system. The Beacon's aim to provide a supportive environment conductive to breaking this cycle in order for these women to live more satisfying, productive lives.
During the event, you will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch, take a tour of the new property, which was once a motel that has been converted to efficiency units, and meet with the staff, Board, and graduates.

There is ample parking in front of the east side of the building.
NE 14th Street and Euclid Avenue, the easiest entry from NE 14th Street behind the Village Inn.
