Seed the next generation of entrepreneurs. Cover a broad range of industries and subject knowledge expertise. Grow your perspective and see new areas across the community.

Building A Public Farm to Support Underserved Farmers & Refugees

Speakers: Andrew Behnke, executive director of In Harmony Farm

Welcome to In Harmony Farm, a central Iowa farm dedicated to serving underserved farmers and refugees by providing access to land. Started in 2022 from a 70-acre gift from Dalla Terra Ranch, In Harmony Farm is a public farm and nonprofit.

One of only a few public farms in Iowa, visitors can experience the natural tapestry of pasture, cropland, waterways, timber, and prairies. The farm includes a welcome center, public walking trails, educational programs, a commercial teaching kitchen, and a farmstand to purchase products from their growers.

Environmental sustainability is at the heart of In Harmony Farm. In 2023, IHF was one of 70 projects selected for the USDA's funding for the Climate-Smart Commodities Partnership. Not only does In Harmony Farm demonstrate regenerative agriculture, but it is also a teaching farm, providing business and technical assistance for beginning and underserved farmers.

Don't miss this beautiful farm tour in the rolling hills of Madison County!
